THE PARAMOUNT THEATER

The State of the Theater is an annual review of The Paramount’s past fiscal year.

It has traditionally been a slideshow of numbers and a ceremonial acknowledgement of the community’s contributions in the previous twelve months. For FY23, we decided to present this information in a different way. I pulled together a nine-minute video feature, introduced a new color scheme for our branding in the slideshow, and designed infographic posters to highlight the details of what we accomplished over the year and what we look forward to in the next.

The Video

An overview of the year, but also a trip down memory lane to tug at the heartstrings of our board, staff, and volunteers.

A team effort. Narrative written by the Director of Communications, Andy Pillifant, voiced by Executive Director, Julie Montross, recorded by Production Manager, Kyle Schneider, and edited by yours truly. Cut together in Premiere Pro, pulling from The Paramount Theater’s archive as well as videos from community organizations. Most of the animations were also created in After Effects.

The Infographics

Presented as large 24” x 36” posters, this was FY23 by the numbers, broken down into six different categories. I incorporated the same colors used in the slideshow.

The Presentation

A slideshow with our new color palette. The sage green takes inspiration from the Theater’s iconic walls and the dark green from its distinct carpets. Brighten it up with a clean but rounded Century Gothic font in white to give it a modern edge.
